BALIK PULAU – A tuition teacher was charged in the Sessions Court here today with three counts of inciting a child under 14 years of age to an act of gross indecency with him.
Mohd Amin Nur Izwan Jamaluddin, 21, pleaded not guilty to all the charges before Judge Sitarun Nisa Abdul Aziz.
He was charged with committing the offence on three 12-year-old boys at his rented house at Lengkok Mahsuri, Bayan Baru near here, between February and May this year.
Mohd Amin Nur Izwan, a student management assistant at a national school in Bayan Baru, is charged under Section 377E of the Penal Code, which carries an imprisonment for up to five years and shall also be liable to whipping, if found guilty.
Deputy public prosecutor Edward Chan, who prosecuted, did not request for bail as the case involved a serious offence and for fear that Mohd Amin Nur Izwan would intimidate the victims, if given bail.
Sitarun Nisa allowed Mohd Amin bail of RM6,000 with one surety on each count and set July 27 for mention.
Lawyer Joseph Cheong, from the National Legal Aid Foundation, represented Mohd Amin Nur Izwan. – BERNAMA
