Tapah Fire Destroys Workers Quarters, Takes One Life

TAPAH – A fire at Batu 2, Jalan Lama, Bidor-Tapah here early today, destroyed 126 rooms at a workers’ quarters and took the life of a Bangladeshi man.

Bidor Fire and Rescue chief Ridzuan Bahida Baharuddin said six firefighters from the station assisted by 10 personnel from Tapah station rushed to the scene following a distress call at 2.37 am.

“The firefighters managed to control the blaze around 3.30 am and discovered the charred remains of a man believed to be a Bangladeshi in his 30s. The fire was fully extinguished by 4.30 am,” he said when contacted here today. – BERNAMA
