BANGI – The Prime Minister’s wife, Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor, on Friday said arts graduates who are talented and capable should be encouraged to reach for international level.
“These graduates in arts should be encouraged to go farther, not only to hold performances at university level, but to go further to face challenges by taking part in state-level competitions and at international level,” she added.
She was speaking at the closing of the “”Konsert Sarjana Pesona Bintang” at Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) tonight. It is organised by Yayasan Minda and UKM.
Also present were Yayasan Minda chairman Senator Tan Sri Prof Dr Ibrahim Shah Abu Shah and UKM deputy vice-chancellor of student affairs and alumni, Prof Datin Noor Aziah Mohd Awal.
Rosmah also advised the graduates to love their culture to avoid them from being easily influenced by unhealthy elements.
“If you do not love your culture and do not have your own self-identity, you will be easily influenced,” she added.
Students who performed at the concert tonight included from UKM, Universiti Malaya, Universiti Putra Malaysia, Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (Unimas), Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS), Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris (UPSI), Universiti Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP) and Universiti Sultan Zainal Abidin. – BERNAMA
