KUALA LUMPUR – Syarikat Bekalan Air Selangor Sdn Bhd (Syabas) is conducting an operation on outstanding bills for April in nine areas.
Its Corporate Communications and Public Affairs general manager, Priscilla Alfred said the areas were Petaling, Klang, Shah Alam, Gombak, Kuala Lumpur, Hulu Langat, Sepang, Kuala Langat and Hulu Selangor.
“The water supply will be cut if consumers fail to settle the outstanding bills. Once the action is taken, consumers will be imposed a RM35 (excluding six percent of GST) charge each for disconnecting and reconnecting of water supply.
“The imposed charge is not a fine or penalty but it is a fixed service charge for disconnecting and reconnecting of water supply,” she said in a statement here today.
She urged consumers to pay up outstanding water bills immediately to avoid action being taken against them.
