KUALA LUMPUR – Pahang continued their Super League campaign after a 40-day break on a high note and stay at the top of the table standings after defeating Police (PDRM) 5-3 at the Shah Alam Stadium last night.
The Elephants took the lead as early as the 7th minute through D. Saarvindran before their Argentinian import Matias Conti scored a hattrick with his goals coming in the 38th, 45th and 70th minutes. Their other goal was netted by Dickson Nwakaeme in the 50th minute.
The Cops’ import from Mali, Dramane Traore also netted a hattrick with his goals coming in the 50th, 79th and 89th minutes.
Meanhwhile, Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT) jumped to second spot after edging Terengganu 1-0 before an empty Sultan Mizan Zainal Abidin Stadium (SMZA) in Gong Badak, Kuala Terengganu.
The FA of Malaysia (FAM) had imposed a ban on supporters because of crowd violence during Terengganu’s FA Cup semi-final match against Lions XII at the stadium on May 16. Terengganu failed to qualify for the final and were also fined RM87,500.

At Stadium Negeri Sarawak, Kuching, Sarawak had to contend with a 1-1 draw against Perak with South Korean import Namkung Woong scoring for the visitors in the 57th minute before Australian import, Ryan Griffiths saved the ‘Ngap Sayot’ squad the blushes when he found the equaliser two minutes later.
At the Jalan Besar Stadium in Singapore, Lions XII took home three full points when they demolished Armed Forces(ATM) 3-1.
Nor Fazly Alias gifted the hosts an own goal in the 39th minute before Muhammad Safuan Baharudin and Shahdan Sulaiman scored their second and third in the 50th and 84th minutes respectively.
However, Nor Fazly made amends when he scored the consolation goal in the 59th minute.
The match between Kelantan and Sime Darby FC which was supposed to be played tonight at the Sultan Muhammad IV Stadium in Kota Baharu had to be postponed to a date to be determined later following the Kelantan government not allowing the stadium to be used for football matches during the Ramadan month.
The state government has reserved the stadium for its Madinah Ramadan programmes.
