KUALA LUMPUR – Pahang recorded their 11th win in the Super League 2015 competition after beating bottom team in the league, Sime Darby FC 4-2 at the Selayang Municipal Council Stadium last night.
The victory enabled the Tok Gajah squad to continue to lead the Super League table after collecting 36 points from 16 matches so far, with a two-point lead over its closest rival, Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT) who collected three full points playing an away game.
In the match, Pahang had to come from behind in the second half after trailing 1-2 in the first half.
The four goals for the Tok Gajah squad came from Damian Delano Stewart in the 30th minute, Matias Conti (58th and 67th) and Mohd Fauzi Rozlan in the 74th.
The two goals for the home team were scored by their Serbian import, Marko Perovic in the 10th and 14th minutes.
JDT continued to pose a challenge for Pahang for the top position after winning 2-0 against Sarawak at the State Stadium, Kuching courtesy of Mohd Amri Yahyah in the 63rd and Luciano Figueroa in the 90th minutes.
At the Tuanku Abdul Rahman Stadium, Paroi, visitors Terengganu went home with three full points after trouncing bottom team in the league, Malaysian Armed Forces (ATM) 5-1, thus overtaking the Police on the seventh spot in the
Canadian import Issey Nakajima-Farran emerged as the hero for Terengganu with a hattrick in the 55th, 72nd and 79th minutes while Ismail Faruqi Asha’ri scored in the 14th minute and Gustavo Fabian Lopez in the 48th.
Nigerian import, Abdulafees Abdulsalam scored the solitary goal for the ATM in the 22nd minute.
Meanwhile, Kelantan continued their winning run under acting head coach, Zahasmi Ismail with a narrow 1-0 victory over Perak at the Stadium Sultan Muhammad IV, Kota Baharu through the only goal by Wan Zack Haikal Wan Nor in the
Earlier, Kelantan had to play with 10 men after Mohd Nor Farhan Muhammad was red-carded by the referee in the 85th minute for a foul on Perak player, S. Vikneswaran.
At the Stadium Shah Alam, the Selangor team had to share a point each with the PDRM after a 1-1 draw.
