In the only Super League fixture today, the win saw coach Fandi Ahmad’s side jump two places to fourth in the league table with 26 points after 16 matches, behind leaders Pahang, JDT and Perak.

The Lions however, were given an early scare by FUFC who began the match on an aggressive note and deservingly took the lead in the 13th minute through veteran striker Indra Putra Mahayuddin.

The goal came about when the Lions X11 defenders failed to check the movements of Zah Rahan Krangar, who passed the ball to Indra Putra and the ex-international beat goalkeeper Muhammad Izwan Mahbud.

Shocked by the early goal, the Lions roared into action and 10 minutes later pulled level via a free kick from midfielder, Zulfahmi Arifin before Muhammad Faris Ramli struck the winner on the stroke of half-time (45th min) to give his team all three points.

Both teams had several chances to score in the second half but the result remained unchanged.
