SHAH ALAM – The Sultan of Selangor Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah today opened the Zakat Selangor Senior Citizens Care Centre, ‘Bait Al- Mawaddah’ in Section 30, Jalan Kebun here.
Sultan Sharafuddin was accompanied by the Tengku Permaisuri of Selangor Tengku Permaisuri Norashikin.
Also present were Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali and Selangor Islamic Religious Council (Mais) chairman Datuk Setia Mohamad Adzib Mohd Isa.
The care centre which is built on a 1.5-acre Mais ‘wakaf’ (donated) land became fully operational on Sept 4, 2014.
Bait Al-Mawaddah accommodates 36 elderly inmates, aged between 55 and 86 comprising the asnaf (eligible zakat recipients) and the poor in the state.
Other than having 26 dormitory rooms, the care centre is also equipped with a physiotherapy room, a herb garden, a multi-purpose hall and an administrative office. – BERNAMA
