PETALING JAYA – Thirty thousand free tickets will be distributed to students in schools throughout Selangor to enable them to watch the annual Sultan of Selangor Cup match between Selangor and Singapore on Sept 27 at the Shah Alam Stadium.
The chairman of the organising committee and Selangor team manager Datuk Abd Karim Munisa said the tickets were being given out to encourage the young to witness the match and get to know players of old and new of the two teams, which were bitter rivals in their heyday.
Speaking to reporters after distributing the free tickets to Sekolah Menengah (P) Sri Aman, Petaling Jaya here yeterday, he said so far 2,000 tickets had also been sold.
He was also optimistic that Selangor would win the Cup for the seventh time after having won it in 2001, 2003, 2005, 2008, 2012 and 2013.
Fans can purchase tickets at RM10 each at Restoran Uncle K at Paradigm Mall, SACC Mall in Shah Alam and Taman Tun Dr Ismail, Kuala Lumpur, Hotel Concorde Shah Alam and the stadium itself on match day. The match begins at 8pm with kick off proper at 9pm. – Bernama
