KUALA LUMPUR – The Sultan of Selangor, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah today officiated the Sungai Buloh Hospital Mosque near here today.
The 2,137.57 sq metre mosque, costing RM3.151 million, was completed on Feb 10, 2012.
It can accommodate about 1,800 members of congregation with the first Friday prayers held on May 18, 2012.
At the event, Sultan Sharafuddin also handed over ‘duit raya’ (cash aid) to 450 asnaf (deserving group) including the poor and Muslim converts before performing the Maghrib, Isyak and Tarawih prayers with members of the congregation.
Also present were Selangor Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali, Deputy Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr Hilmi Yahaya and the hospital director, Datuk Dr Khalid Ibrahim. – BERNAMA
