AS the debate onthe  ‘I Want To Touch a Dog’ programme intensifies, another event sparked an uproar in social media.
A school programme that showed teachers and students skinning and posing with skewered frogs, was ostensibly touted as a ‘frog-eating fest’ by an irresponsible social media abuser.
The photos were uploaded on Facebook and quickly became a viral hit overnight, picked up by most major bloggers and micro news providers on the social website.
However, a liable party stepped in on the matter with an explanation of what really happened in the school.
In a clarification he posted to the Sukan Star TV Facebook page’s admin, the personage wrote:
“Assalammualaikum to Sukan Star TV admins…I request your aid and good nature to remove your post on the frog issue
“Actually, the frog skinning and methods of preparation was part and parcel of a survival skills demo organized by the school’s general movement team (PGA).
“Rest assured, there was no frog consumption programmed going on. The picture was meant to be a cheeky pose by one of the school’s teacher,” said the apologetic man.
Frogs belong in the amphibian species which makes the consumption of its flesh non-permissible in the Islamic religion due to its ability to occupy both land and water.MYNEWSHUB
