HAFIZH Syahrin Abdullah again stamped his mark in the Moto2 category by grabbing 11th place in this time in Motorland Aragon, Spain for the Movistar GP today.
Starting further behind from grid 17, the PETRONAS Raceline Malaysia rider launched a steady assault taking down one rider at a time before crossing the chequered flash in the 21 laps race in 40’37.239s.
The Spanish round was championed by Maverick Vinales of Paginas Amarillas HP40 with his time, 40’16.321s ahead of second place winner, Esteve Rabat (Marc VDS Racing Team) in 40’17.606s while Johan Zarco of AirAsia Caterham finished third in 40’21.197s.
“I’m overjoyed in the out come off the race today but i think if not for the minor setback earlier, I probably would have gotten a better result. A number of riders crashed out that created a mess on the track, thankfully i managed to steer clear,” said Hafizh.
The rider added, “Following the incident, I had to push harder to chase crucial position up front with just a few laps remaining. With this, I will set a better target next time.”
The PETRONAS Talent Development Programme rider now sits 19th overall with a total of 34 points collected. Rabat leads the chart with 278 points.
