KUALA LUMPUR – The Inspector-General of Police, Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar has asked members of the public to stop spreading rumours on missing Deputy Head of Appellate and Trial Division in the Attorney-General’s Chambers, Anthony Kevin Morais.
“Police have advised that the spread of the rumours must stop as it could confuse the people,” he said on his official Twitter site Sunday.
Khalid was commenting on the writing of a Twitter user which alleged the car found in Hutan Melintang, Perak this morning belonged to Kevin who was involved in 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) investigations.
The owner of the Twitter account using the name @raishussin wrote: “DPP Kevin Morias who was in charge of 1MDB investigation is now missing and his car was found burnt (at Hutan Melintang).”
The individual also uploaded three pictures of the car he alleged belonged to Kevin.
On Friday, Kevin was reported last seen leaving his apartment in Menara Duta, Kuala Lumpur to go to his office in Putrajaya.
He was reported to be driving a grey Proton Perdana with registration number WA6264Q.
Today, police found a car razed in Kampung Sungai Samak, Hutan Melintang, Perak, believed to be the same car model used by Kevin.
However, police have not confirmed or denied that the vehicle found belonged to Kevin.
