PETALING JAYA: Raja Zarith Sofiah Sultan Idris Shah said that Malaysians should stop playing the blame game and instead work with the authorities to find a solution with regard to the accident that killed eight teenage cyclists early Saturday morning.
“Hurtful or angry words will not bring them back to life,” the Johor Permaisuri said in a Facebook post on Sunday.
In the tragedy on Saturday, a car ploughed into a group of teenagers at about 3.30am. Six died on the spot while two others died on the way to Hospital Sultanah Aminah.
Two other teenagers are in critical condition at the intensive care unit of the hospital, while six more have broken bones and head injuries.
The driver of the car has been released on police bail.
Following the accident, many people have criticised the parents of the children for allowing them to go out late at night.
