GEORGE TOWN – Penang Gerakan today advised the DAP-led state government to stop playing the blame game and focus on eradicating the flood problem in the state.
Its Tanjung division vice-chairman, H’ng Khoon Leng, said State Local Government, Flood Mitigation and Traffic Management Committee chairman Chow Kon Yeow had blamed the previous state government for not solving the flood issue in the vicinity of Jalan Transfer.
Chow had even dragged the previous chief minister and the late statesman Tun Dr Lim Chong Eu and BN chairman Teng Chang Yeow into the matter by saying the previous state government had not done enough to tackle the flood issue, he said at a press conference.
“This is utterly misleading,” he said. H’ng urged Chow, who is the natural choice to be the next chief minister, to stop shifting blame to the previous state government like what the current leadership was doing.
“It is the style of the current state leadership to push the blame to others and claim all the credit, and I hope Chow will not follow in those footsteps if he assumes office,” he said. – BERNAMA
