PETALING JAYA – English Premier League club Tottenham Hotspur’s Fan Club members from four countries, including Malaysia had the rare opportunity of meeting their favourite players ‘live’.
Malaysian Spurs Supporters Club chairman, Syahizan Wahab said although the club was not one of the more popular choices of football fans in the country, its presence must be appreciated by local football fans.
“I feel football fans in Malaysia should generally feel excited with the arrival of any English Premier League (EPL) team to Malaysia because the chance to face off against an EPL team of world class standard does not come often,” he told Bernama after a session to meet the players at a hotel here yesterday.
Fan club members from Indonesia, Thailand and Singapore were present at the session.
The team, dubbed “The Spurs’ will face a Malaysian Selection at the Shah Alam Stadium today before continuing their tour to Australia. – BERNAMA
