JOHOR BAHRU – The Johor Football Association (PBNJ) and Spanish club Valencia CF have agreed to work closely to develop football in Johor.
PBNJ in a statement through its official website said the agreement had materialised through the efforts of PBNJ President Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim who is also the Tunku Makhota of Johor and Valencia CF President Peter Lim (pic).
“Tunku Ismail and Peter Lim have agreed to collaborate in areas of football developing football in Johor, sending players to train with Valencia CF and sign players on loan, next season,” said PBNJ.
Peter Lim, a Singaporean businessman who has business interest in Iskandar Malaysia bought the Spanish club last month and has a 70 percent share.
Four years ago the Singaporean billionaire had tried to buy English Premier League club Liverpool, but failed.
Apart from Valencia CF, Peter Lim who also has shares in McLaren Automotive, is expected to work with UEM Land to build a motorsport hub in Nusajaya, including a F1 circuit worth RM3.5 billion. – Bernama
