KLANG: A mechanic was allegedly stabbed to death by his youngest son after he attempted to stop the suspect from leaving their house at Lintang Nau off Jalan Tengku Badar, Port Klang here.
South Klang OCPD Asst Comm Alzafny Ahmad said the mechanic’s wife and daughter witnessed the traumatising incident at about 1am Friday in their double-storey terrace home.
He said that the 58-year-old mechanic was sleeping in the living room to prevent the suspect from leaving the house after an argument at about 8.30pm Thursday.
“The 21-year-old suspect had thrown a fit when he was not allowed out of the house and stormed into his room.
“At around 1am, the victim’s only daughter heard him screaming for her and she rushed out of her room. She saw her father struggling with the suspect in the dark.
“The suspect climbed over the fence and ran away,” he said.
ACP Alzafny said when the daughter switched on the lights, she saw her father sprawled in front of the main entrance and covered in blood.
She immediately alerted authorities over the incident.
“The victim was stabbed in the shoulder and left rib with a kitchen knife. The partially broken weapon was recovered from the scene.
“The blade was found jutting out from the victim’s shoulder,” he added.
ACP Alzafny said the suspect was arrested at about 9.15am Friday at a lorry storage area, located some 800m from the scene.
“He was taking a bath when he was arrested. He admitted to slashing a man’s neck but denied that the victim was his father.
“He also confessed to washing blood off his clothes. During his arrest, the suspect was stark naked and his clothes were all wet,” ACP Alzafny said.
According to him, the suspect had been riddled with psychiatric problems after incurring an injury while playing basketball at school when he was 16 years old.
He said that the suspect dropped out of school following the incident and sought treatment at the Universiti Malaya Medical Centre for his affliction until he was 18.
The suspect has never been warded into a hospital.
