KOTA BAHARU – Kelantan Umno will raise on the importance of strengthening solidarity in the party during the debate at the party’s general assembly in the federal capital next week.
Kelantan delegate Datuk Abdullah Mat Yassin, said solidarity at all levels in Umno is important to ensure unity in the party and for it to be strong in pursuing its struggle.
“We hope to see a show of solidarity among leaders and delegates at the assembly,” he told Bernama.
Abdullah, who is Rantau Panjang Umno division leader, said when there is solidarity among the top leaders, the spirit will go down to the division and branch levels, as well as grassroot members in the party.
He said strength that is based on solidarity will generate strong team work spirit, which is crucial to ensure victory in the coming 14th general election (GE14).
Abdullah, who will debate the motion on economy, said among the points in his debate would be on the Trans Pacific Partnership Agreement (TPPA) and Kelantan’ economy.
Another Kelantan delegate, Zaki Mohamad, who is Kuala Krai Umno committee member, will debate the motion on religion and education.
He said the assembly would provide the best platform to discuss and uphold the dignity of the race, religion and country.
Zaki said he would highlight the role UMNO could play in effort to uphold Islam, including on how it could help with efforts to implement the Kelantan Syariah Criminal Code II on hudud.
On education, he said, he would raise the need to produce more human capital and employment opportunities in Kelantan. – BERNAMA
