PUTRAJAYA: An estimated 500 people turned up at alternate periods to show support to Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim’s former aide Saiful Bukhari Azlan, at the Palace Of Justice’s compound,here.
According to the Putrajaya UMNO Youth Exco, Muhd Harith Ahmad Shafiq, their presence served to expressed solidarity to Saiful, whom they believed was sexually victimized by the opposition party leader.
“We came to observe the proceeding and will return tomorrow.”
Harith further added that the mini assembly consisted of members from many races of different organizations, such as the UMNO Youth, reps of Wanita UMNO and other youth groups.
Fronting the comradeship, Harith hoped if proven guilty, justice will finally be served for the 67-year-old former Finance Minister.
Anwar was convicted and sentenced to five years jail on March 7 by the Court of Appeal for sodomising SaifulÂ€ÂŽ at a condominium in Bukit Damansara, Kuala Lumpur, between 3.10pm and 4.30pm on June 26, 2008.MYNEWSHUB
