SNOOP Dogg is launching a website dedicated to cannabis.
The rapper, 43, and media entrepreneur Ted Chung announced the news of the online startup, called Merry Jane, at day one of TechCrunch Disrupt in San Francisco on Monday.
The site, which has the backing from Hollywood actor Seth Rogen among others, has been described as a â€œpremier media platform at the intersection of cannabis and pop cultureâ€.
Due to launch next month, it plans to publish everything there is to know about cannabis and will include a section called Deflowered that has been described as a “ground-breaking interview series that will profile innovative people as they enjoy cannabis”.
It will also contain information about marijuana products and section containing cultural and lifestyle features.
Speaking at the event, Snoop Dogg said: â€œAfter watching where the cannabis industry is headed, I wanted to create a platform that will take this movement further by creating a destination where people could find fresh content.
â€œMerry Jane is a game-changing platform for pop culture. Itâ€™s a new frontier yâ€™all!â€
While he added to VentureBeat: “I enjoy it [cannabis] for medical reasons and it’s a peace situation for me. I always see beautiful things around me. I’ve always been an advocate for me.” – Daily Mirror
