KOTA BAHARU – Six out of 26 road stretches in eight districts in Kelantan, which were closed Thursday due to the floods, have been re-opened to traffic Friday.
According to the state government’s flood portal, the roads that are now passable to all traffic are Jalan Jeli-Dabong at Kampung Reka, Jeli; KM6 Jalan Kubang Kerian-Bachok here and KM4 Jalan Sungai Durian in Kuala Krai.
Three others are in Pasir Puteh, namely KM75 Jalan Pasir Puteh-Gong Kelih; KM45 Jalan Kota Baharu-Kuala Terengganu and KM29 Jalan Kota Baharu-Kuala Terengganu.
Meanwhile, 12 road stretches are still closed to all vehicles and they are at KM2 Jalan Bukit Sireh in Kuala Krai, three in Machang, namely at KM8 Jalan Machang – Pangkal Meleret; KM7 Jalan Kampung Pek-Paloh Rawa and KM6 Jalan Kubor China-Temangan, and eight in the Pasir Mas district.
The roads which remained close in Pasir Mas are at KM12 Jalan Rantau Panjang – Panglima Bayu; KM7.5 Jalan Rantau Panjang – Panglima Bayu; KM3 Jalan Pengkalan Rakit, KM11 Jalan Rantau Panjang (Jalan Lama) Kampung Siram; KM12 Jalan Lubok Jong – Tanah Merah (Jegor); KM23 Jalan Banggol Kulim; KM25 Jalan Pasir Mas -Rantau Panjang and KM10 Jalan Pohon Tanjung-Meranti.
Eight other road stretches are now opened to only heavy vehicles and they are at KM3 Jalan Pohon Tanjung-Pasir Pekan in Tumpat, KM1.5 Jalan Tanah Merah-Kusial-Kampung Ipoh in Tanah Merah, KM4 Jalan Kota Baharu-Pantai Cahaya Bulan in Kota Baharu and four roads in Pasir Mas.
The roads in Pasir Mas are at KM5 Jalan Tendong-Bunut Susu-Gelang Mas; Jalan Tendong-Bunut Susu-Gelang Mas in Kampung Manan; KM4 Jalan Pasir Mas-Meranti and KM4 Jalan Bukit Tuku-Batu Hampar.
The road at KM3.5 Jalan Pasir Puteh-Semerak in Pasir Puteh is also now passable to heavy vehicles. – Bernama
