KAJANG – Six men were charged in the Sessions court here today for allegedly taking part in organised crime involving ‘Gang 360 Devan’.
They were Muhammad Rushlan Abdullah, B. Letchumanan, K. Alagasuveeran, M. Paramaguru, R. Sathies and Elangonaidu, aged between 31 and 44.
They nodded when the charges against them were read out separately before Judge Noridah Adam.
No plea was recorded from the accused as they were detained under the Security Offences (Special Measures) Act 2012 (SOSMA) and the case will be transferred to the Shah Alam High Court.
The offences allegedly occurred at the MV Empayer Sdn Bhd, No: 1-B, Jalan Perniagaan Masria 1 in Pusat Perniagaan Masria, Batu 9 Cheras here between Jan 1 and Feb 7, 2017.
The six were charged under section 130V(1) of the Penal Code which is punishable under the same section providing a jail term of up to 20 years upon conviction.
The prosecution was handled by deputy public prosecutors Mohamad Mustaffa P. Kunyalam and Muhammad Fadzlan Mohd Noor while the accused were unrepresented.
The court fixed April 18 for mention.
On March 6, 29 individuals including a politician who is a Datuk were charged in the same court for alleged involvement in organised crime. – BERNAMA
