KEPALA BATAS – Six houses and a PAS headquarters in Kampung Paya Keladi Hujung, Pinang Tunggal here were damaged in a storm today.
In the 6.30 pm incident, several roads were also blocked by felled tree trunks.
A victim, Mohd Azman Jamal, 42, said the strong winds lifted and damaged the roof of his house above the kitchen area.
“The rain water entered the kitchen area and I ordered my wife and children to get out of the house for fear that there will be other part of the house that will collapse. The living room of two of my neighbours were also damaged,” he said.
Meanwhile, Pinang Tunggal assemblyman Datuk Roslan Saidin when contacted said he had visited the victims and two of the six affected families were putting up at the houses of relatives.
“I have also instructed that damaged homes to be repaired tomorrow and it will be funded through an allocation from Kepala Batas member of parliament Datuk Seri Reezal Merican Naina Merican,” he said. – BERNAMA
