KUALA LUMPUR – Police have arrested lawyer Siti Zabedah Kassim or better known as Siti Kassim for obstructing a government servant from discharging his duties last night.
Selangor CID chief SAC Fadzil Ahmat said Siti Kassim was arrested at the Kajang district police headquarters at 12.40am today following a police report lodged by a woman who claimed that her 24-year-old daughter was ‘kidnapped’ by Siti on Thursday.
Siti Kassim was alleged to have kidnapped the complainant’s daughter (who is also Siti’s client as reported by the media) while she was undergoing psychiatric examination by a doctor at the Kajang Hospital.
“A police report has also been lodged by a police personnel who was accompanying the young woman at the examination ward when Siti Kassim stormed in and started a commotion, while the security guards were trying to stop her,” he said in a statement here today.
Fadzil said following the incident, the police have rescued the woman from a house in Segambut about 9 pm last night.
He said the police had to break into the house to ensure that the victim did not harm herself as she refused to cooperate and locked herself in.
The victim was then sent back to the Kajang Hospital to undergo the examination and to allow the investigating officer to obtain the doctor’s decision, said Fadzil adding that the case was classified under Section 363 and Section 186 of the Penal Code. – BERNAMA
