KUALA LUMPUR – With one pronouncement, 1960S singer Datuk A Rahman Hassan,67, and actress Fadilah Mansor, 54, were confirmed as husband and wife in a marriage ceremony last night.
The bride and groom looked resplendent in matching cream outfits in a ceremony officiated by the imam of Masjid Jamek Kampung Baru, Ustaz Haji Azizi Abdul Hamid Al-Hafiz, at Dewan Tun Hussein Onn, Putra World Trade Centre.
In the ceremony attended by 500 guests, Fadilah, who was given away by her elder brother, Jamaluddin Mansor, received a dowry of a diamong ring and five trays of offerings which were reciprocated with five trays.
When met by reporters, A Rahman, who was popular with the song “Tak Mengapa”, expressed his thanks because the ceremony went smoothly. “This is a new achievement in our lives. Insya Allah, we will endeavour to make it work the best we can,” he said.
Among his friends who were present were actor Datuk Jalaluddin Hassan, singer Uji Rashid, Hail Amir and Datuk DJ Dave.
Prior to this, Fadilah was married to veteran film director, Ahmad Ibrahim or Mat London. They have two children. A Rahman Hassan is a single father to three children including actor and director Khir Rahman. His wife, 1960s singer Datin Azizah Mohamad, died on April 26 last year from cancer. â€“ Bernama
