in Top News

SINGAPORE – Three more people have been charged over the theft of oil worth over US$2mil (RM8mil) at Shell’s refinery in Pulau Bukom here.

Singaporeans Alan Tan Cheng Chuan, 45, Ng Hock Teck, 54 and Vietnamese national Doan Xuan Than, 45, were charged in court on Saturday morning.

The Straits Times understands that none of them are Shell employees and they were not part of the 17 men who were nabbed in an island-wide raid on Jan 7.

Of the gang of 17, 11 were charged in connection with the misappropriation of fuel on Tuesday (Jan 9).

The case is believed to be the biggest of its kind in recent memory at an oil refinery. – The Straits Times/Asia News Network
