SIMON Cowell has had a floody nightmare this week as water has caused £100,000 of damage at his plush Syco TV office.
The whole of the Britain’s Got Talent guru’s base in High Street Kensington was flooded with inches of water.
All the 56-year-old’s beloved interiors, including his glorious leather walls, expensive sofas and luxury black toilet paper, were turned into a swampy mess after a hose was left on in the gym on the floor above.
A source says: “It’s believed somebody carrying out some maintenance works left a hose running over the weekend.
“The water seeped through the floor and flooded Simon’s office. Everything is ruined. Simon spends loads of money kitting out his offices so they are a plush environment to work in. He’s spent a fortune on framing fancy portraits on the walls, including some pricey prints by famed photographer Terry O’Neill.
“The insurance bill will be huge, it will take weeks to fix. It’s a Grade II listed building and it could have caused some serious damage.â€
BGT auditions are underway and the flood has forced Simon to cancel and rearrange appointments. It’s also likely to hit filming. It’s not the first time the star has faced a disaster at his property.
In December, burglars targeted his £35million mansion and stole girlfriend Lauren Silverman’s jewellery and some cash. The raiders passed three feet from his bed as he slept.
Cowell, who has upped his personal and home security since, said at the time: “It’s just the feeling of that invasion. It kind of creeps you out a bit.†– Daily Mirror
