KUALA LUMPUR – Social website users should be careful when sharing information or giving comments on any issue as it can lead to false accusations against others.
Deputy Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Senator Datuk Dr Asyraf Wajdi Dusuki said the act could also embarrass the parties concerned and sour relations due to differences of opinion.
“Even if the matter is true, by openly embarrassing any party is a big sin. We should avoid slandering others because if we can maintain decorum, we can create a more positive aura in the society as there are too many negative vibes being disseminated,” he told a press conference here today.
He was commenting on an independent speaker who claimed that giving formula milk to a baby could influence the moral of the infant in a television talk show on the goodness of mother’s milk.
The statement later went viral on the social media, which incurred the unhappiness of some parties.
Earlier Asyraf Wajdi opened the national level Mosque Library Conference at the National Mosque.
In his speech, he said books in mosque libraries could be digitalised to give readers the alternative to access various reading materials.
“Apart from that, talks which have been uploaded on YouTube by various agencies could also be made as mosque library collection to reach the people,” he said. – BERNAMA
