KUALA LUMPUR – Seven areas recorded unhealthy Air Pollutant Index (API) readings as at 7 am Tuesday.
According to the Department of Environment’s (DOE) website, the area with the highest API reading is Nilai, at 134, followed by Bukit Rambai (127), Port Dickson (118) and Seremban (114).
The unhealthy API reading was also recorded for Bandaraya Melaka (111), Batu Muda (Kuala Lumpur)(108) and Banting (106).
The API readings in other areas like Tanah Merah, Tanjung Malim, Kangar, Keningau, Kota Kinabalu, Sandakan, Tawau, Kapit, Limbang, Miri, Kuala Terengganu and Labuan were good.
The air quality in other areas is good with moderate API readings.
Air quality with API readings of 0-50 is categorised as good, 51-100 (moderate), 101-200 (unhealthy), 201-300 (very unhealthy) and 301 and above (hazardous).
