BANGKOK – Thai police believe the spate of bomb and arson attacks which struck several provinces, including popular tourist spots in recent days, were “clearly connected”.
In the incidents, four people were killed and 35 others, including 10 foreign tourists were injured.
Thai Police Deputy Chief, Gen Pongsapat Poncharoen said this when confirming the arrest of a 32-year-old Chiang Mai native for alleged involvement in an arson attack in one of the southern provinces.
“All the incidents (bomb and arson attacks) were clearly connected. The police and military are working closely in the investigations into the incidents,” he told the media at the Royal Thai Police here today.
He said the authorities had been making progress in their investigations, as well as on the suspects linked to the incidents. – BERNAMA
