PETALING JAYA – Residents from at least 64 houses will be evacuated due to the major landslide that struck Taman Idaman in Serendah on Saturday morning.
According to the Selangor Disaster Management Agency, affected households will be relocated to Sek Ren Agama Serendah as a safety precaution.
The Hulu Selangor District Public Works Department (JKR) has been instructed to carry out immediate repair works at the affected area.
It was earlier reported that a motorcyclist was injured while a food stall and 10 vehicles were buried by the landslide.
Mohd Fareez, 21, has been sent to Selayang Hospital for treatment.
Selangor Fire and Rescue assistant director (Operations) Mohd Sani Harul said personnel from the Kuala Kubu Baru Fire and Rescue station were dispatched to the scene following a distress call at 1am.
