PETALING JAYA – A senior police officer was caught yesterday for trying to steal from his neighbours house in Taman Bangi Avenue, here.
Kajang district police chief ACP Ahmad Dzaffir Mohd Yussoff said, after police arrived at the scene following a distress call at 5pm, they found a man armed with a knife coming down the stairs of the house filled with stolen items.
“He resisted arrest and put up a fight when police found him before we finally apprehended him and took him to the Kajang police station,” he said.
Checks showed that the 31-year-old man was a senior police officer at Bukit Aman.
Dzaffir said that the house owner a 45-year old financial advisor was at work during the alleged robbery.
“He rushed back home when he was informed and he identified the suspect as his neighbour.
“He also confirmed that the stolen items were from his house,” added Dzaffir.
Among the stolen items were a PC and smartphones.
The suspect has been remanded for four days under Section 457 of the Penal Code for house break-in. – The Sun
