SHAH ALAM – The Sultan of Selangor, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah today presented the letter of appointment to the Syarie Chief Judge, Dr Mohd Na’im Mokhtar at Istana Bukit Kayangan, here.
Mohd Na’im, 48, was appointed to the post effective May 21, thus becoming the youngest Syarie Chief Judge in the country.
Also receiving the letter of appointment from the Sultan was Syarie Appeals Court Judge, Datuk Mukhyuddin Ibrahim, 57, who was appointed effective today.
At the function, Sultan Sharafuddin also presented letters of appointment to 14 Syarie Lower Court Judges, 13 Syarie High Court Registrars, five Syarie Lower Court Assistant Registrars and 19 Registrars of Muslim Marriage, Divorce and Reconciliation.
The appointment ceremony was also attended by Selangor Menteri Besar Mohamed Azmin Ali, State Secretary Datuk Mohammed Khusrin Munawi, Selangor Mufti, Datuk Mohd Tamyes Abdul Wahid and Selangor Islamic Religious Department (JAIS) director Datuk Haris Kasim. – BERNAMA
