Bath salts and aromatic herbs are a great way to take your relaxing bath game to the next level. The bad news, though, is that when you sprinkle them straight into the tub, they can leave residue behind thatâ€™s tough to clean and wreaks havoc on your drain.
A better alternative thatâ€™s becoming more and more popular (for good reason) is bath tea, which is, well, exactly what it sounds like: a blend of aromatic herbs and salts encased in a tea bag or tea ball. Just drop a tea bag into the bath and enjoy all the aromatherapy benefits without any mess. Imagine soaking in a giant mug of soothing, aromatic tea, and you get the idea.

Reusable cloth tea bags or a tea ball
2 Tbsp crushed dried rose petals
2 Tbsp dried lavender
2 Tbsp dried white sage
Â½ cup pink Himalayan salts
A glass jar to store excess
How To Prepare Your Bath Tea:
In a bowl, mix herbs and salts together. If using tea bags, spoon 1 tablespoon of the mixture into each tea bag and seal. If using a tea ball, spoon 1 tablespoon of the mixture into the tea ball when ready to use, and store the rest in an airtight glass jar.
How To Use Your Bath Tea:
Drop your tea bag or tea ball into a warm bath and let steep for 5-10 minutes, or until the bath water has changed color very slightly (if you overdo it, drain the bath a bit and refill with fresh water). Keep in mind that the first use will be the most potent, but you can reuse each tea bag for 2 or 3 baths and still reap the benefits.
Note: There are so many natural ingredients that would work well in your bath tea mixture, so experiment and be creative. Some other options to keep in mind: orange blossoms, mint, powdered honey, epsom salts, dried dandelion, rosemary, chamomile, powdered milk, and green tea leaves.
