KUCHING: Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak said he will seek some funding to redevelop a community clinic and an agricultural marketplace in the Mambong constituency.
The Prime Minister said this followed requests submitted to him when he met the Bidayuh community in Kampung Sungai Duuh in the constituency.
He noted that the Bidayuh lived in harmony with other races in the country, and this proved that policies touching on multi-racial co-existence backed by the Barisan Nasional had been successful.
“Although the Bidayuh are a minority ethnic group, they are well represented in the country with one minister, two deputy ministers and six state assemblymen (in Sarawak),” he said.
Najib said his visit to the constituency today also coincided with the birthday of the BN candidate for the seat, Datuk Dr Jerip Susil.
Dr Jerip is in a three-cornered fight with DAP’s Sanjan Daik and Willie Mongin of PKR in the Sarawak election, polling for which is on May 7.
