KUALA LUMPUR: MIC vice-president Datuk M. Saravanan has threatened to hold a large gathering outside the home of party president Datuk Seri G. Palanivel if he fails to hold an emergency meeting with central working committee members within 24 hours.
â€œWe are giving him 24 hours to hold the meeting. If not we will gather at Palanivelâ€™s house.
â€œThings are getting out of control,â€ he said outside MIC headquarters on Wednesday afternoon.
On Tuesday, Saravanan was replaced as Federal Teritory MIC chairman by Datuk Rajoo Vyraperumal.
The appearance Saravananâ€™s supporters created a tense atmosphere outside the headquarters with police standing by.
Tempers flared when security guards refused to allow some of them to enter the building.
The crowd which eventually calmed down when Saravanan came out of the building to pacify them.-The Star
