KUALA LUMPUR – Samsung Electronics Co Ltd announced 10 new multi-function printer (MFP) models for the European market at the ‘Smart MultiXpress’ Unveiling Event taking place at IFA 2014 in Berlin.

The new models are in four categories – the X4300 (A3 colour), K4350 (A3 monochrome), M5370 (A4 monochrome) and M4580 (A4 monochrome) series – and are designed to be more independent, intuitive and scalable for all types of business environments.

The MFPs are the first printers of their kind to be equipped with an Android operating system.

Executive Vice President of Printing Solutions at Samsung Electronics Dr. KiHo Kim said in a statement that Samsung continues to strive for user-centred innovation, adding the introduction of the first Android OS-equipped MFPs will enhance Samsung’s smart office experience for business customers and allow for greater multidimensional and advanced printing technologies.

“Our new printer line combines Samsung’s best in class IT technology and OA device know-how to create more innovative products for the new office automation market,” he said.

The new MFPs will feature Samsung’s Smart UX Centre to operate independently without a PC, app scalability, and a consumer-friendly UI.

They also feature a 10.1-inch full touchscreen panel that enables users to search and print from web browsers, emails, maps, images and other types of content, without the need to connect to a PC or server. The touchscreen also offers the ability to preview documents, as well as editing and annotating capabilities.
