PETALING JAYA – A sales administrator pleaded not guilty in the Sessions Court here today to criminal breach of trust (CBT) involving RM12,984.30 belonging to her employer.
Siti Diyana Awang, 26, made the plea before judge Datin Fadzlin Suraya Mohd Suah.
She was charged with committing the offence by using the money, which was the company’s sales collection, for personal use at Pharma Line Marketing Sdn Bhd, Jalan Putera Permai 1B, Taman Equine, Seri Kembangan here on Oct 24 last year.
The charge, under Section 408 of the Penal Code, provides an imprisonment for up to 14 years and whipping and fine, if found guilty.
Deputy public prosecutor Ashyraf Ashy’ari Kamaruzaman, who prosecuted, offered bail at RM15,000.
However, Siti Diyana, who has two children, requested for a lower bail as she was now unemployed.
“Only my husband is working to support and our children, aged one and three years.
The court then set bail at RM10,000 in one surety and fixed April 10 for mention. – BERNAMA
