KOTA KINABALU – Sabah Resource Resource Development and Information Technology Minister cum Paginatan assemblyman Datuk Siringan Gubat died of heart attack at 10.57 pm last night.
He died a week after another Sabah cabinet member Apas assemblyman Datuk Tawfiq Abu Bakar Titingan, who was also State Youth and Sports Minister, died of cancer.
In confirming the matter, United Pasok Momogun Kadazandusun Murut Organisation (UPKO) Information Chief Albert Bingkasan said in a statement here today that Siringan breathed his last while receiving treatment at the Gleneagles Hospital here last night.
Siringan, who was also acting deputy president of UPKO, was 68.
Bingkasan said the remains of Siringan will be taken to Kampung Kinirasan, Ranau on March 23 for burial the following day (March 24).
Siringan was Ranau member of Parliament since 2008 before becoming Paginatan assemblyman in 2013. – BERNAMA
