KOTA KINABALU – The Sabah government encourages and supports the involvement of civil servants in sports to ensure they are in good physical and mental health, said Chief Minister Tan Sri Musa Aman today.
He said the state government required quality workforce at all levels to be able to provide fast, accurate and efficient service to the people.
“Hence, I urge and encourage members of the civil service, especially those at the Chief Minister’s Department (JKM) , to give some time in their daily routine for exercise. This is necessary to ensure we are fit and healthy,” he said when closing the JKM Muhibbah Sports Festival here last night.
He said the programme helped to enhance cooperation and team work, as well as sportsmanship, among JKM staff, while encouraging healthy lifestyle through sports activities.
“The spirit of teamwork instilled during this sports meet can be made a work culture to enhance the performance and effectiveness of the delivery service of their respective departments and agencies.
“This will certainly contribute to the success of all development plans in Sabah,” he added. – BERNAMA
