KUALA LUMPUR – Radio Television Malaysia (RTM) will broadcast the 29th SEA Games on TV1 and TV2 live, from Aug 19 to 31.
The SEA Games in Kuala Lumpur will see athletes from 10 ASEAN countries competing in 405 disciplines from 38 sports.
According to a statement by the national broadcaster, the coverage will include a live telecast of the official opening, followed by morning sessions from 9am to noon; afternoon sessions from 2 to 5pm, the English version from 5.30 to 7:30pm and evening sessions from 10.30pm to 12.30am.
Meanwhile, Nasional FM has been appointed as the official radio station to deliver comprehensive coverage on the SEA Games, while KL FM, Traxx FM, Minnal FM, Ai FM and Asyik FM will also deliver the latest updates during the event.
Six sports commentators have been chosen for the SEA Games, namely Azlan Mubin, Izwan Mohd Nor, Rasdi Jumaat, Wan Nazrul Aisham, Nazrie Fahmi and Jeed Zulkifli.
Communications and Multimedia Minister Datuk Seri Dr Salleh Said Keruak yesterday announced that RTM would be the host broadcaster of the 29th SEA Games in Kuala Lumpur.
This is the second time Malaysia will be hosting the Games after 2001, when the country emerged the overall champions winner with 111 gold, 75 silver and 85 bronze medals.- BERNAMA
