in Latest

BERLIN – Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor, wife of Malaysian Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak, visited Schule am Friedrichshain, a special school for children with autism, in Berlin on Tuesday.

The school offers several forms of special educational care for students, with the support of teaching assistants.

It also offers a special vocational qualification for youths with autism in fields such as woodwork, textile cleaning, home economics, cooking and gardening, a statement said.

The Berlin Senate for Education, Youth and Women recommended the visit, it said, adding that it could help further enhance Malaysia’s PERMATA Kurnia programme for children with autism.

Rosmah, who is accompanying Najib on an official visit to Germany, is the patron of the PERMATA Programmes founded in Malaysia in 2007.

The PERMATA programmes enlist children and teenagers from every walk of life, with the objective of providing a platform to unleash potentials and sharpen talents to accelerate national growth and cultivate a leading generation Malaysia can be proud of. – BERNAMA
