PUTRAJAYA – The Prime Minister’S wife, Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor has urged the wives of Barisan Nasional (BN) elected representatives to play a more proactive role in their respective constituencies and not only accompany their husbands to events.
Rosmah, who is also the president of the Association of Wives of Ministers and Deputy Ministers (BAKTI), said the demands on them was currently increasingly challenging and they should not just depend on their husbands’ past deeds.
“As such, whether they want to or not, as wives of leaders, they should foster good ties with society, like in escalating welfare programmes and enlivening the spirit of the “Blue Wave” (the BN’s catchphrase) with society,” she said when delivering a talk on current issues and role of wives of elected representatives here, today.
She said wives of leaders must also be sensitive about their surroundings and be proactive in their every action, other than equipping themselves with the latest knowledge on policies and programmes introduced by the government for the people.
The talk was held in conjunction with the Wives of Barisan Nasional (BN) Elected Representatives annual convention. The five-day programme which started today is being attended by 600 delegates from throughout the country.Â – BERNAMA
