PUTRAJAYA — The Prime Minister’s wife Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor hosted a high-tea to honour former Girl Guides Association Malaysia deputy president Raja Puan Besar Perak Raja Nor Mahani Raja Shahar Shah.
Rosmah, who is also the president of GGAM, in her speech said during the seven years Raja Nor Mahani held the post, she showed tremendous dedication in carrying out her duties.
“Tuanku worked tirelessly to make the GGAM a formidable association and also shouldered the president’s tasks when needed.
“I hold Tuanku in high esteem, even though Tuanku is the Raja Puan Besar Perak, and the same time the deputy president of GGAM, Tuanku never wavered in giving a her best to strengthen GGAM,” she said.
At the same time, Rosmah also congratulated Raja Puan Muda Perak Tunku Soraya Sultan Abdul Halim who now holds the post (deputy president of GGAM).
“Hopefully under the leadership of Raja Puan Muda, the Girl Guides will continue their tradition of excellence. I am certain that Raja Puan Muda will always discharge her duties with dedication, integrity and total commitment,” she said.
Rosmah added that she hoped GGAM will ensure all programmes it carries out meets the tastes of today’s girls to produce a new generation of women who are of calibre and capable of driving the nation forward.
Earlier, Rosmah had represented GGAM in receving a Toyota Hiace donated by MRCB Bhd which was handed over by MRCB group managing director Tan Sri Mohamad Salim Fateh Din. – BERNAMA
