KUALA LUMPUR – In line with the concept of inclusivity, the national development and economic growth plan under the 11th Malaysia Plan (RMK11) will be enjoyed by all strata of society, said Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak.

The Prime Minister, when tabling RMK11 in the Dewan Rakyat today said, the national economic growth would be felt by the people regardless of gender, ethnic group, socioeconomic status and geographical position.

“Focus is also given to all ethnic groups, sub-ethnic and minority groups including Malaysians of Siamase and Portuguese origins,” he said.

Najib, who is also the Finance Minister, said among those being planned and would be continued was the Chinese New Village Special Loan Scheme Programme by focusing on micro credit loans.

For the Indian community, Najib said a blueprint which outlined the direction of their socioeconomic development would be provided.

According to Najib, under the RMK11 framework from 2016 to 2020, attention would also be given to the economic growth of the Orang Asli and bumiputra in Sabah and Sarawak.

“Focus will be given to the issuing of customary land ownership rights or Native Customary Rights to encourage land development with modern technology via the related government agencies.

“Malay communities in traditional villages especially fishermen and farmers and self-employed households will be provided with the basic facilities needed including modernising activities to boost productivity and their incomes,” Najib said. – BERNAMA
