KUALA LUMPUR – The ringgit opened lower against the US dollar on weaker buying demand given the greenback’s strength globally.
At 9 am, the local note was quoted at 3.6960/6990 against the US dollar from yesterday’s 3.6890/6920.
Meanwhile, the ringgit was traded mostly higher against other major currencies.
It appreciated to 2.6748/6789 against the Singapore dollar from yesterday’s 2.6697/6723 and rose to 3.0432/0462 against the yen from Thursday’s 3.0440/0477.
The ringgit also strengthened to 5.4967/5037 against the British pound from 5.5232/5291 but was traded lower against the euro at 3.9203/9243 from 3.9089/9124 yesterday. – BERNAMA
