KUALA LUMPUR – The ringgit opened higher against the US dollar on continued buying interest from exporters, dealers said.
At 9.30 am, the ringgit was quoted at 4.0980/1030 against the 4.1040/1090 at 5 pm on Wednesday.
The local unit however, was traded mostly lower against other major currencies.
It edged up against the British pound to 6.4289/4384 from 6.4343/4437, but declined against the euro to 4.5615/5687 from 4.5362/5425 yesterday.
The ringgit continued to depreciate against the Singapore dollar at 2.9263/9316 from 2.9235/9281 and weakened against the yen to 3.3051/3105 from 3.3025/3073. – BERNAMA
