PARIT – The Maahad Tahfiz Al-Quran (religious school) being built in Kampung Seri Kaya, Bota Kiri near, will hopefully produce more students who memorise the Quran in future, said Information Department Director-General Datuk Ibrahim Abdul Rahman.
He said the Madrasah Tuan Guru Abdul Ghani Maahad Tahfiz Addin was being built on a 0.4-hectare endowment land worth RM1.8 million.
He said the first phase of the school, the 16th to be built under the Addin Foundation, would be completed by February next year.
“We want to continue the legacy of this village which is noted for religious teachers who contributed to the development of the society here,” he told reporters after attending a contribution handing ceremony for the construction of the school here today.
Meanwhile, chairman of the school, Shihabudin Alang Mat Diah said the first intake involved 35 students. – BERNAMA
