KUALA LUMPUR – The redevelopment of the Seri Pahang People’s Housing Project (PPR) flats is expected to begin next year, said Federal Territories Minister Datuk Seri Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor.
He said the redevelopment of the flats and its surrounding area, which had existed since the 1960s, would provide convenience to the roughly 8,000 residents.
“Earlier this year, certain quarters claimed that the land owned by Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) was going to be sold … (but no) we will redevelop it.
“DBKL will not sell its property, we will rent it out back to the existing tenants,” he told reporters after launching the programme Nur Ramadan at the Seri Pahang flat here last night.
Also present were the Mayor of Kuala Lumpur Tan Sri Ahmad Phesal Talib and the Lembah Pantai Umno Division chief Datuk Seri Raja Nong Chik Raja Zainal Abidin.
Tengku Adnan said the original tenants would also be given the same rental price of RM124 per month with subsidies totalling RM250 per unit by DBKL. – Bernama
